12 good reasons to get started

Your entire physical media collection in one place. Keep track of LPs, CDs, DVDs and Blu-rays in a single program.

Add new titles in seconds using the barcode. Scan with a webcam or an ordinary USB/Bluetooth barcode scanner. DiscTracker can automatically fetch title, artist, year, genre and cover art, and it attempts to identify the media type at the same time. That removes most of the manual typing.

A dashboard that brings your collection to life. See the number of titles, music and films/series, estimated vinyl value, top 10 artists, directors and genres, plus the spread across media types and decades. It is more than cataloguing – it gives you insight into the collection itself.

Find what you are looking for fast – even in large collections. DiscTracker searches across the whole collection and supports favourites and separate libraries. You can also switch between grid, list and cover view, depending on how the collection is easiest to browse.

Cover art makes the digital collection instantly recognisable. Covers can be uploaded manually or fetched automatically. DiscTracker can even search for cover art by artist/director and title when the barcode is unknown.

Professional reports – without the spreadsheet work. Create complete media lists, value, insurance and annual reports, or build your own report with exactly the fields you want. Data can be grouped by artist, director, genre, year and decade, among others.

Never forget who borrowed your record or film. Titles can be marked as lent out with a required note, such as the borrower’s name. Every lent item can then be found together in one report.

Your data can be backed up and taken with you. The collection can be saved as a JSON backup and exported to CSV. That way your records are not locked inside the program’s interface.

Dropbox sync between your copies. DiscTracker can connect to Dropbox and compares versions, so the newest collection overwrites the older one. Sync can also be set to run automatically on exit.

See what your collection is worth. The dashboard shows estimated vinyl value among other figures, and the reports section includes value and insurance reports. That makes DiscTracker useful for collectors who want to document their collection, not just catalogue it.

Document the collection for your insurer. Generate a proper insurance report for the collection instead of maintaining spreadsheets and lists yourself. Reports can be printed and exported as CSV.

Built specifically for collectors – not for generic inventory lists. LPs can be recorded with details such as groove speed and weight, while Blu-ray has fields like region and HDR format. That is a real advantage over an ordinary spreadsheet or a generic database.
